This was my first attempt at drafting a comprehensive narrative bible for my own original role-playing game. Dragon’s Edge: Vespers of the Storm combines the role-playing and party elements of Mass Effect and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with the complex, high-octane combat from character action games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta—along with the “turning into a giant monster” power fantasy found in Attack on Titan.

In Dragon’s Edge, the Player will recruit a diverse party of characters across the many countries of Zelios. As they build their reputation for their mercenary company, they will both need to navigate the turbulence of a war-ridden continent, but also uncover a dark conspiracy that threatens to consume Zelios and all its inhabitants in an eternal blaze. The bonds forged between the Player and their party, along with their devastating draconic powers (that allow them to assume the role of a Dragon God) will be invaluable towards their mission to saving their world from the many dark forces that threaten it.

This 25 page document covers numerous aspects of the game, from a story brief, overview of the world and races residing in it, the major characters comprising the player’s party, NPCs, and enemies, as well as a breakdown of the major beats of the overall main story quest.
